We’re going house hunting today. Again.
I’m trying to avoid getting excited about a house we’ve seen online — and which we can’t see today because it’s still not open to would-be buyers. It looks amazing. And it’s in a half-decent — as in, “not terribly foggy” — neighborhood.
But since we can’t see the “dream house,” we have to settle on going to see possible alternatives, none of which we’re particularly excited about. But it’s Sunday and we only have a couple of months before we have to be out of our condo, so we have to look.
Last week, we were in love with a house in NoPa. That fell flat once we saw the disclosures and words like “mouse in garage” and “mildew” and “rot.” The house is a zillion years old, so you have to expect such stuff. Still, I want more for my $1.3 million — mostly borrowed, I might add. And if there’s any interest at all, it’ll go for more — $1.4? $1.5? Stupid.
